I get a lot of questions revolving around the differences of an independent contractor vs a contract employee. I am an independent contractor, I am my own business.

Here's how different they are:

🔹️🔹️🔹️Independent Contractor🔹️🔹️
🔹️ they are a business, typically
🔹️ they provide services and ask for payment ie. with invoices
🔹️ can be expensed/tax deductible
🔹️ they do not have employee rights or benefits
🔹️ they typically operate with their own equipment
🔹️ have their own insurance and agreements as a service provider
Etc.

🔹️🔹️🔹️Contract Employee🔹️🔹️
🔹️ defined as employed for an employer for a specific role or a pre-determined time frame
🔹️ entitled to some or all employee benefits and rights
🔹️ employee has to pay employee premiums, vacation etc. in a lot of instances
🔹️ they often work with employer's equipment equipment resources
🔹️ insured through employer for work purposes
Etc.

A lot of these are technical differences, but if you want to know the daily details of working with an independent contractor let's have a chat. Send an inquiry to www.ontarioassistant.com or send me a DM to connect.
